About the Opportunity

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Psychologist, the Psychology Technician provides psychological testing, scoring and reporting of results to the Psychologist.  The primary responsibilities of the Psychology Technician are focused on optimizing the provision of neuropsychological services within the Seniors Health program. Neuropsychological testing involves the assessment of cognitive functioning including judgement, memory, attention, language, visual perception, general intelligence (IQ), motor speed, spatial perception, abstract reasoning and emotional/behavioral issues using standardized paper and pencil or computerized tests. Other clinical, educational and patient research duties may be assigned depending on service needs at the discretion of the supervising Psychologist. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neurosciences, or related fields acceptable to the discipline (e.g., Health Sciences)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail will be required
  • One year of related experience required
  • Training and/or experience in the administration and scoring of psychological tests preferred
  • Experience working with geriatric populations and with persons with dementia or other neurologic disorders preferred
  • Experience working or volunteering in a clinical or research setting in a psychology related area preferred
  • Experience working with database, word-processing, and statistical programs (e.g. SPSS) are an asset
  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Long Assignment, Full-Time; 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

$36.13 - $43.21 Hourly
