About the Opportunity
The Provincial Manager Radiation Therapy Standards will lead the Provincial Radiation Therapy Program within the Cancer Care Program. The Manager will work closely with Provincial and Operational Medical and Administrative Leaders.
The Manager develops, implements, manages and evaluates a provincial program to ensure safe, equitable, and fiscally responsible access to appropriate radiation therapy according to evidence-based guidelines and treatment policies developed by Cancer Site Teams and the Radiation Therapy Program in Nova Scotia.
This position is accountable for leading the advancement of the radiation therapy profession in NS by integrating clinical and professional standards into professional practice and research.
In collaboration with key operational, practice & academic stakeholders, the manager provides oversight to the development, review, integration, implementation, and evaluation of radiation therapy services and professional practice standards that support both the NSH CCP strategic and business plans and ensures standardization between the two centres
The Manager assists with knowledge development and translation, ensures that data and systems are in place to support appropriate utilization of radiation therapy, ensures quality and standardization of according to provincial standards and guidelines, and works with care delivery teams to ensure effective stewardship of radiation therapy resources.
This position requires specialized depth of knowledge in a clinical practice area as well as a breadth of experience in radiation therapy practice and leadership.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree plus seven years of clinical radiation therapy experience
- Two years of management experience preferred
- Advanced qualification such as MBA, MHSA or MSc - preferred.
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice radiation therapy in Nova Scotia.
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
- In-depth knowledge of radiation oncology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to acquire, analyze and report utilization data
- Strong understanding of radiation oncology related evidence-based guidelines
- Ability to develop and maintain networks at local, national and international levels
- Ability to build consensus among stakeholders and mobilize stakeholders to support a common vision
- Effective research, analytical, critical thinking, planning and evaluation skills
- Computer literacy as it relates to data analysis, budgeting, word processing and online communication tools
- Experience in oncology therapy guideline development and implementation
- Experience evaluating CPQR KQIs
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Temporary Full-time Long Assignment Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Approximately 18 months; commencing August 18, 2025
Compensation and Benefits
$49.13 - $65.28 Hourly
