About the Opportunity

The Cell Therapy and Transplant (CTT) Specialist develops, validates, implements, and executes the procedures required for processing, cryopreservation, distribution, and infusion of human stem cells for transplantation.
The CTT Specialists develops SOPs in accordance to governing and accrediting bodies. The CTT Specialist assists in the surgical retrieval of bone marrow stem cells in an operating room environment by completing required documentation including requisitions for testing and communicating results between the lab and physicians, performing calculations to be verified by physicians, and proper labeling and packaging of the product for transport. The CTT Specialist also independently completes processing, preservation and subsequent infusion of bone marrow/peripheral blood stem cells from living donors. Responsible for maintaining the quality and viability of human cells while in possession of CTT Specialist. The CTT Specialist is a specialized leadership role requiring excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. The CTT Specialist is accountable and responsible for ensuring the quality, safety and successful completion of all CTT related activities.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Two years of previous related job experience required
  • AABB Foundations of Cell Therapy considered an asset
  • Employees are responsible to access training, education and awareness of safety (occupational health safety and patient safety, PHIA agreement), annually
  • Ability to write advanced Scientific and Technical documents (i.e. abstracts, research papers, Standards of Practice)
  • Peri-operative aseptic and surgical scrub techniques (annual re-certification), PPE knowledge
  • Theoretical and Practical Surgical training for living bone marrow harvests
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills
  • Program Development and coordination skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$32.55 - $38.94 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
