The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Health Information Services, , the Manager, Centralized Booking and Intake is a key member of the HIS team. This position establishes, implements, and manages day to day operations of the IWK Health booking and Central Intake office team. The Central Intake team is responsible for the efficient and effective intake of new and existing clinical referrals for Women’s and Newborn Health and Children’s Health programs for optimum patient flow. The central intake manager acts as a liaison with clinical teams including physicians, nursing, clerical, and the clinics, inpatient units and the emergency department.. This position strives to uphold IWK Health’s Strategic Plan and operational goals. Under the direction of the HIS leadership, the role will work with the interprofessional teams to guide and implement effective clinical scheduling/booking. for clinical appointments.
The manager is responsible for monitoring and reporting volumes, wait times and other key performance indicators.
The Manager adopts continuous quality improvement principles, innovation, and technological initiatives to advance IWK Health’s commitment to enhance access to ambulatory clinical care. . The Manager facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of IWK Health.
Working with the ambulatory care teams, , the Manager will support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives to support and improve the delivery of health care services across the continuum.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- HICA or CHIMA certification an asset.
- Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association
- Minimum of 3-5 years working experience and responsibilities in a leadership or management position
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clinical care providers required.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and implement transformative initiatives required.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders and team members in a virtual environment required.
- Demonstrated high degree of independent decision-making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills required.
- Sound knowledge and skillful application of quality improvement principles and approaches
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyse evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
- Strategic planning and systems thinking
- Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of health care service initiatives
- Experience in program and service development, implementation and evaluation required
- Experience in financial planning
- Experience within a health-related environment preferred
- Experience in an ambulatory clinical servicesetting preferred
- Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong working memory
- Possesses a sound knowledge of management and a working knowledge of information systems
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings.
