About the Opportunity

 

Reporting to Principal Investigators (PI) and under the direction of the Research Manager, the Research Coordinator (Non-Clinical) coordinates research projects within Cardiology and/or Cardiovascular Surgery Research, Nova Scotia Health. This coordination includes the administration of the study/clinical trial, financial management for multiple studies/trials, caring for the subjects participating in the study and the management of documents and data collected throughout the study period. We are looking for someone with experience in managing randomized controlled trials. The Research Coordinator (Non-Clinical) works within collaborative research team environment offering a flexible work schedule. 
 

  • Works with the PI and/or Research Manager to identify human and material resources required to fulfil protocols
  • Is involved in the recruitment of study subjects
  • Screens patient health records to identify potential study subjects and obtains informed consent 
  • Acts as a key point of contact for study subjects to answer questions or address problems and follows up as appropriate
  • Arranges and books appointments for study subjects, registers patients for study visits and liaises with clinic staff and/or pharmacy as required
  • Compiles and summarizes study data using database and/or spreadsheets

 

About You

 

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Completion of a relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) designation considered an asset
  • Relevant clinical experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated research and analytical thinking skills
  • Previous experience in a relevant field preferred
  • Previous research experience in managing prospective clinical trials strongly preferred

Hours

 

  • Full-time, long-assignment (75 hours bi-weekly)
  • Two-year assignment beginning as soon as possible
  • This role requires you to be onsite and is based in Halifax, NS

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

$26.92 - $33.65 Hourly

$52,494 - $65,617 Annually
