About the Opportunity
Reporting to the SPP Health Protection Manager, Immunization the Public Health Pharmacist Lead will be responsible for supporting Provincial Bio Depot staff with day-to-day operational demands, developing, and implementing SOPs for vaccine storage and handling, working collaboratively to improve efficiencies and support staff through change. The Lead will need to draw on prior dispensary, clinical and teaching/preceptorship experience to support the immunization program and to lead quality improvements and evaluation in vaccine storage, handling and distribution. The Lead will collaborate with pharmacy and immunization system partners where needed.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
- Eligible for the registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists required
- Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting preferred
- 3-5 years relevant experience required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Knowledge of vaccines and medication patient safety therapeutics required
- Experience in evidence based clinical research or quality improvement methodology an asset
- Strong teaching ability/experience required
- Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature required
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills required
- Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and to work well under time pressures required
- Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

- Permanent Full Time/100%FTE/ 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$50.66 - $59.45 Hourly
