About the Opportunity
Under the supervision of the Manager of Primary Health Care, the Pharmacist will work with an interprofessional group of health care providers with collaborative family practice teams and primary health care chronic disease management teams, and patients to provide patient-centered care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy. This includes working on selected medical services, identifying and resolving drug-related problems, completing medication reconciliation, participating in interprofessional medical rounds, providing patient education, and making therapeutic recommendations to the team. The Pharmacist is also responsible to ensure safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems (inpatient and outpatient) as well as contributing to the effective and efficient attainment of the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Services.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Minimum two years' experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include days, nights and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts)
- Travel to various sites will be required
Compensation and Benefits
$46.11 - $56.21 Hourly
