About the Opportunity

The Administrative Assistant will work under the direction of the Manager of Occupational Health Safety & Wellness.  The Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support to the Occupational Health Safety & Wellness teams.
 
The Administrative Assistant ensures that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.
 
The main objective is to provide support to the Nova Scotia Health Occupational Health Safety & Wellness Team, in order to assist employees and managers to minimize the effects of illness and injury on staff, the workplace and patients, and to promote a healthy lifestyle with the focus of enhancing existing levels of health, productivity and well-being.

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program.
  • Two years’ of relevant experience, providing administrative support and office coordination with multiple customers and/or partner organizations
  • Undergraduate degree is an asset.
  • International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Computer skills including familiarity with enterprise software systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Parkland is an asset
  • Developed abilities and skills in modern office practices
  • Ability to work effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

 

Compensation and Benefits

$21.09 - $26.36 Hourly

 

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
