About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Program Manager and working under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse and Recreation Therapist, the Therapeutic Assistant assists in the provision of health, health promotion and therapeutic services to the rehabilitation population. The Therapeutic Assistant will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary team in carrying out the individual's treatment program and communicating patient specific information that will enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team. The Therapeutic Assistant may be required to work throughout the QEII site.

- Grade XII plus a one year certificate or diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program
- Current CPR certification is required
- Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
- Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Hours
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$21.88 - $23.86 Hourly
