The Opportunity
The Supervisor, Clinical Nutrition, under the direction of the Manager, Food Services, is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all activities involved in breast milk storage, preparation, and handling using a computerized breast milk tracking system. The Supervisor, Clinical Nutrition, must be able to collaborate with the Manager of both the NICU Department and Food Services Department to ensure the goals and objectives are implemented in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the IWK Health Centre. The supervisor must also function as part of a team, working with employees and other supervisors to maximize performance in the workplace the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor works closely with the NICU Infant Clinical Dietitian and collaborates with NICU management to align with NICU goals and best practices for feeding high-risk infants.

Your Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) required
• Successful completion of a Dietetic Internship required
• Registered member of Nova Scotia Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada required
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience required
• Practical experience and education in product and service quality, cost control, human resource issues, and administrative reporting preferred
• Ability to supervise staff in a complex, unionized, multi-site operation
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team-builder and team-player
• Ability to positively influence others in adapting to expanded/ changed roles
• Ability to identify learning opportunities and provide direction and coaching for employees in individual goal attainment
• Organizational skills; ability to focus on a problem/ project/ issue, identify obstacles and facilitators, plan a course of action, and guide/ monitor progress toward a solution
• Excellent computer skills; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; capable of writing clear, concise reports with recommendations
• Competencies in other languages an asset
