About the Opportunity

Reporting to both the Health Services Director of Dartmouth General and the Director of Ambulatory Care, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the management, planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered programs at the Dartmouth General. This includes various clinics within Ambulatory Care and the Endoscopy Unit.  
 

Responsibilities include process design and redesign initiatives related to improvement activities in the department. The Health Services Manager is also responsible for providing the leadership required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum. Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements. Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviours. This position also requires a high degree of initiative and change leader shifting ability. The ability to travel freely in the district is required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health related discipline.

  • Current registration with applicable college related to health degree

  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio.

  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.

  • Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges.

About You Continued

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum.

  • Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement.

  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support.

  • Demonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employment.

  • Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time-sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSHA as necessary.

  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle.

  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly
