About the Opportunity

The Health Care Social Worker reports to the Program Manager and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, provides a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health. These interventions include: psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counseling, resource counseling, discharge planning and case management. The Health Care Social Worker is actively involved in advocacy, education, program planning, consultation and collaboration on behalf of individuals/groups within the institution and community. The role is multifaceted and dynamic requiring the Health Care Social Worker to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.

 

The Social Worker may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker 
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of human behaviour including systems theory, family dynamics, group dynamics, and theories of behaviour change
  • Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Please note: consideration may be given to those with a Masters of Social Work education and less than two year experience in a developmental capacity within a different pay scale. 

 

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

 

Compensation and Benefits

Healthcare Social Worker (Masters) - $37.31 - $49.05 Hourly 

 

Developmental Social Worker (Masters) (HTH130) - $33.27 - $36.02 Hourly
