About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Development, the Consultant, Strategic Projects and Initiatives is a provincially focused role where responsibilities involve working with the broader team to advance the strategic and operational priorities of the portfolio. The Consultant has a responsibility for leading the overall coordination of the planning, design and implementation of strategic initiatives and network activities assigned under the direction of the Manager, Planning & Development.
The scope of practice will include various roles as facilitator, coordinator, communicator, and planner. They work according to the mission, vision, values and policies of NS Health to support the development and implementation of programs, services and initiatives throughout the province. The Consultant’s activities are guided by the Network’s priority areas, multiple stakeholders and by community needs and, therefore, require a professional approach. This work requires recognition and application of best practice and application of evidenced informed decision making.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline or health science field
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Services Administration preferred
- Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association preferred
- Minimum three years related leadership experience preferably in a health care setting
- Certification or additional training in Quality Improvement, Design Thinking, Project Management and/or Change Management an asset
- Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of programs, services or initiatives
- Experience in supervision or management of unionized staff
- Experience in program and service development, implementation and evaluation required
- Proven ability to work with a variety of stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
