In March 2023, the Province of Nova Scotia announced a retention bonus for healthcare workers, including Continuing Care Assistants. Eligible employees work for publicly funded health authorities, Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMCI), Health and Speech Nova Scotia, the continuing care sector and disability support programs. For Continuing Care Assistants, the retention bonus is up to $5,000.
