Steps to becoming a licensed Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) in Nova Scotia.
You can study to become an MRT, also referred to as Radiological Technologist, right here in Nova Scotia. Dalhousie University offers a 4-year Bachelor of Health Sciences degree program.
In addition to this degree, you will need a current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS-C) and Standard First Aid certificate.
After completing your schooling as well as the practical training requirements, you must pass the national registration exam. Visit the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) for more information.
To start working, ensure you register as an MRT with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
