Streamlined licensing for pharmacists applying from the U.S.
Before applying for a pharmacy position in Nova Scotia, you’ll need to be licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (NSCP). For U.S.-trained pharmacists, a streamlined process is available, making it faster and more predictable to start practising. This typically involves credentialing through Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada, having your degree evaluated by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), completing a Jurisprudence Exam and a Structured Practice Experience with the NSCP, and applying for provincial licensure—often without needing national exams if you meet certain criteria.
