Dieticians assess individuals' nutrition needs and develop dietary or nutritional plans, to improve patient outcomes. They educate and equip their clients or patients to develop healthy eating habits. 

Steps to becoming a dietician in Nova Scotia.

Step 1
Complete a Dietician program

Step 2
Complete supervised practice

After completing school, dieticians must complete an internship or accredited practicum of 35 to 40 weeks.

Step 3
Pass the Dietician Exam

Take the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination (CDRE). The successful completion of this exam is required to practice or be licensed as a dietician in all provinces and territories, except Quebec.

Step 4
Register as a Dietician in Nova Scotia
