The QEII Health Sciences Centre is the only tertiary care referral center for the province of Nova Scotia, where more than 5300 invasive procedures, between 1800-2000 percutaneous interventions, and more than 300 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Interventions are performed every year. We also have a very active structural interventional program.
The Division of Cardiology is one of 15 divisions within the Department of Medicine. Job Description
The Department of Medicine, Dalhousie University/Nova Scotia Health, seeks applications for a position as an Academic Interventional Cardiologist with the Division of Cardiology, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.
An attractive remuneration and benefits package through an alternative funding plan will apply. Academic appointment ranking will be based on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold FRCPC or equivalent certifications in Medicine and Cardiology, with specialty training in Adult Interventional Cardiology in either a Royal College Area of Focused Competence (AFC) Diploma Program or an equivalent fellowship program with a minimum 2-year training in percutaneous coronary intervention. They must also be eligible to have appropriate licensing for Cardiology with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
Preference will be given to applicants with high volume experience beyond fellowship, advanced skills (for example, but not limited to, complex/high risk coronary intervention, structural intervention), and to those with a strong academic background.
